Allen Sharpie was quick to begin. Oshkosh Expert and Banjo Fever were slow to begin.
Clovally Granite, Black Impala and Queen Quick collided soon after the start. Dyna Dean, Oshkosh Expert and Kaela Star collided soon after the start. Allen Sharpie crossed to the outside soon after the start and inconvenienced Dyna Dean and Kaela Star. Clovally Granite and Black Impala collided approaching the first turn. Clovally Granite, Black Impala, Queen Quick, Dyna Dean, Oshkosh Expert and Banjo Fever collided on the first turn. Queen Quick and Dyna Dean collided on the first turn. Black Impala and Dyna Dean collided several times on the first turn, checking Black Impala. Dyna Dean and Oshkosh Expert collided on the second turn. Clovally Granite and Kaela Star collided in the back straight; Kaela Star fell and tailed off as a result. Queen Quick and Dyna Dean collided in the home straight.

Queen Quick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
Kaela Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
