Mr Stephen Whyte, trainer of Weeona Jimmy, declared a new weight of 32.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Weeona Jimmy last raced at 30.9kg.

Shrek's Fairy and Parto's Digit were slow to begin.

Siver Lightning, Sunset Queen and Charlie Haze collided soon after the start. Charlie Haze and Miss Chole Jane collided on the first turn, checking Charlie Haze, Shrek's Fairy, and Miss Chloe Jane which lost ground as a result. Miss Chloe Jane was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle and abrasions to the right hind foot. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

Shrek's Capri and Stealthy Flight collided soon after the start, checking Stealthy Flight. Slick Assassian and Shrek's Capri collided on the first turn. Raise Your Paws was a late scratching at 11:27PM due to illness (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Gin Lee's Bullet and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 10.38am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Gino Bisognin was fined the sum of $100.

Jobes Return, Colonel and Gin Lee's Pride were slow to begin.

Gin Lee's Pride and Swift Uni collided several times approaching the first turn. Gin Lee's Pride, Swift Unit and Edna Sparkle collided on the first turn, checking Colonel and Swift Unit, and severely checking He's A Freebie.

Stewards spoke to Ms Vanessa Watson, the trainer of Smurftastic, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Smurftastic last raced on 28 November 2016 and is returning after a change of kennels. Ms Watson declared a new weight of 25.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Smurftastic last raced at 27.0kg.

Hurricane Craig and Alannah's Gem were quick to begin. Starlit Dragon was slow to begin.

Alannah's Gem raced wide from box rise to the first turn. Dane Daisy and Liberty Diamond collided soon after the start. Dane Daisy and Smurftastic collided on the first turn. Eye Spy Emma galloped on the heels of Smurftastic on the first turn, checking Smurftastic and severely checking Maximum Jarvis and Liberty Diamond. Dane Daisy and Smurftastic collided on the home turn. Dane Daisy and Hurricane Craig collided approaching the winning post.

Starlight Lucy was quick to begin. Spoil The Party and Freedom Fire were slow to begin.

Spoil The Party, Freedom Fire and There's Steamy collided soon after the start. There's Steamy and Bare Bones collided entering the home straight. Freedom Fire and Miz Josie collided in the home straight. Bare Bones raced wide in the home straight. Miz Josie eased approaching the winning post.

Miz Josie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Trainer Mr. Gregory Tatti declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Gregory Tatti, the trainer of the greyhound Miz Josie, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Miz Josie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Tatti pleaded guilty to the charge, Miz Josie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Monster Roar was quick to begin.

Mini Tron, Dr. Gammiris and Cotton Bud Joe collided approaching the first turn.

Pawesome Boss was vetted following the event after an incident in the catching pen. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right wrist. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

Who's Irod was slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Irby, the trainer of In Dee Genes, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. In Dee Genes last raced on 11 January 2017 and is returning after an illness.

Crackerjack Cam and Rock Me Baby collided soon after the start, checking Crackerjack Cam. Ribacola, Snow Mistake and Rock Me Baby collided approaching the first turn, checking Ribacola. Spot Of Magic checked off Birkenhead approaching the home turn. Birkenhead and Spot Of Magic collided in the home turn. Rock Me Baby tired over the concluding stages.

Rock Me Baby was vetted and then re-vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 5-day stand down period.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Alan Azzopardi regarding the greyhound's racing manners over the concluding stages. Mr. Azzopardi stated that he believes the greyhound was unable to run out the distance in this event due to variations in the greyhound's weight and will be looking to enter the greyhound over shorter distances in the future. Stewards took Mr. Azzopardi's comments into consideration and issued the greyhound with a warning regarding it's racing manners over the concluding stages.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Ripple Eff Ex trialled over the 400m from box one, weight 27.7kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.63, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of a neck. Ripple Eff Ex was cleared.
