Mr Stephen Whyte, trainer of Weeona Jimmy, declared a new weight of 32.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Weeona Jimmy last raced at 30.9kg.
Shrek's Fairy and Parto's Digit were slow to begin.
Siver Lightning, Sunset Queen and Charlie Haze collided soon after the start. Charlie Haze and Miss Chole Jane collided on the first turn, checking Charlie Haze, Shrek's Fairy, and Miss Chloe Jane which lost ground as a result. Sunset Queen checked off Siver Lightning approaching the home turn. Joyce's Choice checked off Siver Lightning on the home turn. Joyce's Choice and Sunset Queen collided entering the home straight.
Miss Chloe Jane was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle and abrasions to the right hind foot. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
