Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Irby, the trainer of In Dee Genes, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. In Dee Genes last raced on 11 January 2017 and is returning after an illness.

A pre-race sample was taken from In Dee Genes.

Spot Of Magic checked off Birkenhead approaching the home turn. Birkenhead and Spot Of Magic collided in the home turn. Rock Me Baby tired over the concluding stages.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Alan Azzopardi regarding the greyhound's racing manners over the concluding stages. Mr. Azzopardi stated that he believes the greyhound was unable to run out the distance in this event due to variations in the greyhound's weight and will be looking to enter the greyhound over shorter distances in the future.
