Slick Assassian and Bellini Martini collided on the first turn.  Shrek's Typhoon and Optima Semper collided on the second turn.  Slick Assassian raced wide in the home straight.

Mr. T. Churchill, trainer of Do Looks Count declared a new weight of 31.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Do Looks Count last raced at 33.8kg.

Holler At Me was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right elbow injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. D. Blake, trainer of Iroquois Souljah declared a new weight of 32.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Iroquois Souljah last raced at 34.1kg.

Iroquois Souljah and Snow Mistake were slow to begin.  Amaroo Gonzales was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Snow Mistake was checked off Iroquois Souljah approaching the first turn.  Golden Hand faltered on the first turn and lost considerable ground.  Iroquois Souljah was checked off Our Miss Deena on the first turn.  Snow Mistake and Amaroo Gonzales collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Iroquois Souljah was checked off Our Miss Deena in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms. C. Barnard, the trainer of Manx Knight regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Manx Knight last raced on 19 January 2017 and is returning after a change of kennels.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Hay, the trainer of Miss Mathieson regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Miss Mathieson last raced on 13 November 2016.  Mr. Hay stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after sustaining two broken does on the left hind foot. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Miss Mathieson trialled over the 315 metres from box 8, weight 25.5kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.66 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4 lengths.  Miss Mathieson was cleared..
