A pre-race sample was taken from Fiery Nell.
Showgirl Miss and Molly Walker collided soon after the start. Nangar Tiger, Rose Of Dyanna, Showgirl Miss and Molly Walker collided at the 250m mark. Rose Of Dyanna and Showgirl Miss collided at the 200m mark.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Brett, the handler of Fiery Nell, regarding the delay in boxing the greyhound for this event. Mr. Brett stated that the greyhound's rear toenail became momentarily caught in a screw access hole at the rear of the boxes. Stewards noted Mr. Brett's explanation and reffered the incident onto appropriate management.
