Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Brouwer, the trainer of Zero Care Factor regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Zero Care Factor last raced on 3rd December 2016. Mr. Brouwer stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being on season. Mr. Brouwer also declared a new weight of 28.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Zero Care Factor last raced at 29.8kgs.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Ferguson, the trainer of Dame Oregano regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dame Oregano last raced on 13th December 2016. Mr. Ferguson stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a change of kennel.
Dame Oregano and Tomdor were slow to begin. Cosmic George, Pillar Creek, Zero Care Factor and Kava Magic collided approaching the first turn checking Kava Magic and Zero Care Factor. Kava Magic and Zero Care Factor collided approaching the home turn. Kava Magic and Pillar Creek collided on the home turn. Flaming Causeway raced wide on the home turn. Pillar Creek and Tally Ho Gal collided in the home straight.
Flaming Causeway was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right monkey muscle and left thigh muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
