Brett the trainer of Matchstick Girl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Matchstick Girl last raced on 31st October 2016.  Mr. Brett stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following injury to the right metatarsal after which time it became seasonal.

Bolac Babe was a late scratching at 10:43am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Gladman, the trainer of Yorgi Blues regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Yorgi Blues last raced on 20th January 2017.  Mr. Gladman stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following split webbing to the left front toes.  Mr. Gladman also declared a new weight of 33.2kgs in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Yorgi Blues last raced at 34.4kgs.

Crymelon Fettle and Reignlee were quick to begin.  Virgil and Gothamburg collided soon after the start.  Yorgi Blues, Gundy's Gold and Boloney Club collided approaching the first turn checking Gundy's Gold.  Yorgi Blues, Boloney Club and Proven May collided on the first turn checking Yorgi Blues and Gothamburg.  Yorgi Blues and Gundy's Gold collided on the first turn.  Reignlee, Crymelon Fettle and Boloney Club collided on the first turn checking Proven May and severely checking Crymelon Fettle; Crymelon Fettle lost considerable ground as a result.  Boloney Club and Reignlee collided approaching the home turn.  Gundy's Gold checked off Virgil on the home turn.  Crymelon Fettle raced wide approaching the winning post.

Blue Label was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Bibby, the trainer of Crymelon Pink regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Crymelon Pink last raced on 8th December 2016.  Mr. Bibby stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being on season.  Mr. Bibby also declared a new weight of 26.6kgs in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Crymelon Pink last raced at 25.3kgs.

Spring Time Miss trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 26.4kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.14.  The greyhound won by a margin of a neck.  Spring Time Miss was cleared.
