Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Brett the trainer of Matchstick Girl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Matchstick Girl last raced on 31st October 2016. Mr. Brett stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following injury to the right metatarsal after which time it became seasonal.
Bolac Babe was a late scratching at 10:43am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Matchstick Girl upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Right Off Spot and Heartstring were slow to begin. Reality Storm, Right Off Spot and Thera Cee collided soon after the start. Krazy Blaze, Matchstick Girl and Too Fly collided soon after the start checking Matchstick Girl. Thera Cee and Too Fly collided approaching the first turn. Matchstick Girl, Thera Cee and Heartstring collided on the first turn checking Thera Cee and Heartstring. Reality Storm raced wide entering the home straight.
Krazy Blaze was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a lesion to its mouth. No stand down period was imposed.
