Meteor Thunder, Admire Black, Owing It and Little Fawkner were slow to begin.  Little Fawkner crossed to the outside soon after the start.  Admire Black and Owing It collided at the 200m mark.  Tree Climber Liv and Fear Fire collided at the 200m mark.  Tree Climber Liv eased and collided with Fear Fire from the 150m mark until the 100m mark.  Admire Black and Owing It collided at the 150m mark.  Gypsy Wendy and Owing It collided at the 150m mark.  Admire Black checked off Gypsy Wendy at the 100m mark.  Gypsy Wendy and Owing It collided at the 100m mark.  Owing It and Little Fawkner collided at the 50m mark.  Little Fawkner raced wide throughout the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G Allen, the trainer of the greyhound Tree Climber Liv regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 150m mark.  Tree Climber Liv was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor lacertations to the left wrist and left hind toe, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Tree Climber Liv with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Allen pleaded not guilty to the charge, Tree Climber Liv was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
