A pre-race sample was taken from Peggy Sable.
Andrej's and Marciarno Miss were quick to begin. Peggy Sable, Flywheel Alfie, Sir Bridgborn and Call Me Tickets were slow to begin. Andrej's crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Cosmic Missile, Louie Neveelk and Marciarno Miss. Cosmic Missile, Sir Bridgborn and Louie Neveelk collided entering the front straight checking Cosmic Missile, Louie Neveelk and Call Me Tickets, Sir Bridgborn fell as a result. Andrej's and Marciarno Miss collided on the second turn. Cosmic Missile and Call Me Tickets collided on the second turn. Cosmic Missile raced wide approaching the third turn checking Call Me Tickets and Louie Neveelk. Louie Neveelk and Cosmic Missile collided on the fourth turn. Call Me Tickets, Cosmic Missile and Louie Neveelk collided on the home turn. Call Me Tickets and Cosmic Missile collided approaching the winning post checking Call Me Tickets.
Stewards noted the muzzle of Call Me Tickets became wedged in the greyhound's teeth approaching the winning post.
Sir Bridgeborn was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Call Me Tickets was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a pucture wound to the webbing on the left hind foot and an abrasion to the right hind toe, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. L. Russell the representative of Call Me Tickets regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Kleeven the representative regarding the direction that the greyhound Louie Neveelk be be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
