Astromatic and Black Pontiac were slow to begin. Senor Gold and Astromatic collided soon after the start. Phil's In Luck crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Sandy Monelli, Zipline Marjen and Senor Gold. Maverick Dusty and Sandy Monelli collided approaching the first turn. Zipline Marjen contacted the running rail approaching the first turn. Maverick Dusty was checked off Sandy Monelli on the first turn and raced wide severely checking Astromatic, Zipline Marjen and Maverick Dusty. Phil's In Luck and Black Pontiac collided entering the home straight. Black Pontiac and Hit Legs collided approaching the winning post.
Astromatic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left thigh, no stand down period was imposed.
