Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Jesaulenko upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

A pre-race sample was taken from Crackerjack Burn.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Wise Harvey upon arrival at the course prior to kennelling, a subsequent pre race sample was taken. (Amended 18/3/16)

Weblec Belle, Midnight Flynn, Wise Harvey and Jesaulenko were slow to begin.  Wise Harvey and Jesaulenko collided soon after the start.  Weblec Belle and Jailor Bale collided soon after the start.  Crackerjack Burn and Gaucho collided approaching the first turn.  Midnight Flynn and Wise Harvey collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Midnight Flynn.  Weblec Belle checked off Crackerjack Burn on the second turn.  Gaucho and Jesaulenko collided on the third turn.  Jailor Bale and Gaucho collided on the home turn.  Jesaulenko veered in and marred Gaucho approaching the winning post.

Jailor Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Jesaulenko was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild soreness to the left triangle muscle, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mrs T. Morris, Trainer of Jesaulenko.  Acting under GAR 69(1), Stewards charged Jesaulenko with marring.  Mrs Morris pleaded not guilty to the charge.  Jesaulenko was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at  Sandown Park and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Samples were taken from the following placegetters: Unlawful Entry (1st) which set a new track record of 28.951, Gaucho (2nd), Jailor Bale (4th), Weblec Belle (5th) and Midnight Flynn (6th).
