Verdict and Blue Westmead were quick to begin. Sir Bridgborn and Pretty Boy Grigg were slow to begin. Marungi Choice, Unsub Andy and Lil Arthur collided soon after the start checking Unsub Andy. Jack Winter and Marungi Choice collided approaching the first turn. Verdict and Blue Westmead collided on the first turn checking Verdict. Pretty Boy Grigg galloped on the heels of Sir Bridgborn on the first turn. Jack Winter galloped on the heels of Marungi Choice on the first turn checking Jack Winter which became unbalanced and fell as a result. Pretty Boy Grigg checked off Sir Bridgborn in the home straight.
