Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms A Courts, the trainer of Maximum Tess, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Maximum Tess last raced on 16 November 2016. Ms Courts stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following an injury to the left front leg.
Stewards spoke to Mr G Campbell, the trainer of Don One, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Don One last raced on 20 December 2016. Mr Campbell stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after a left shoulder injury.
Maximum Tess and Riverdale Paddy were quick to begin and collided approaching the first turn, checking Maximum Tess and Fran Allen. Fran Allen checked off Maximum Tess approaching the first turn. Maximum Tess galloped on Majha Male on the first turn, checking Majha Male and Fran Allen, and severely checking Maximum Tess. Don One and Little Big Chief collided approaching the home turn. Fran Allen and Majha Male collided approaching the home turn. Majha Male eased in the home straight. Exford Peggy, Duty Sheet, Don One, Maximum Tess and Majha Male raced wide in the home straight.

Majha Male was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist and right hip injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr A Varchione, the representative of the greyhound Majha Male regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Majha Male with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Varchione pleaded guilty to the charge, Majha Male was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
