Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Queen La Fipa.
Zelemar Jim was quick to begin. Ballistic Beauty was slow to begin. Southwood Jet and Dynamite Zara collided soon after the start. Southwood Jet checked off Winlock Macy on the first turn. Zelemar Jim checked off Queen La Fipa entering the back straight. Zelemar Jim and Big Bold Boomer collided in the back straight. Dynamite Zara and Winlock Macy collided on the home turn. Winlock Macy eased entering the home straight and collided with Dynamite Zara. Winlock Macy eased again in the home straight and collided with Dynamite Zara.
Winlock Macy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Stefanos, the trainer of the greyhound Winlock Macy regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Winlock Macy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Stefanos declined to have the greyhound re-vetted and pleaded guilty to the charge, Winlock Macy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
