Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dundas Boy.
Hardy's Me Mum and Dundas Boy were slow to begin. Slipaway Curly, Dyna Priscilla and Slipaway Simba collided soon after the start checking Dyna Priscilla and Patchie Anchor. Slipaway Curly checked off Slipaway Simba approaching the first turn. Slipaway Curly,Thunderous Night, Dundas Boy, Dyna Priscilla and Patchie Anchor collided on the first turn checking Thunderous Night, Dundas Boy, Dyna Priscilla and Patchie Anchor. Patchie Anchor raced wide on the home turn.
Slipaway Curly, which tailed off in the event, was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to its right front leg and split webbing to its right front foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Quinn, the trainer of the greyhound Slipaway Curly. Stewards deemed the performance of Slipaway Curly unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Slipaway Curly must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Slipaway Simba, the winner of the event.
