Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Higgins,  the trainer of Le  Grand Bleu regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Le Grand Bleu last raced on 16 September 2015.. Mr.Higgins stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after suffering a broken right front toe. 

Mr. J.Higgins, trainer of Le Grand Bleu declared a new weight of 32.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Le Grand Bleu last raced at 31.6kg.

Act The Goat, I'm Mad and Crazy Dayz were slow to begin.  Kev's Choice and Hannebery Thyme collided soon after the start.  Hannebery Thyme checked off Senni William soon after the start.  Act The Goat checked off Ima Lara Lass soon after the start.  Crazy Dayz raced wide throughout the event.  Ima Lara Lass, Kev's Choice, Hannebery Thyme and I'm Mad collided approaching the first turn checking Hannebery Thyme.  Act The Goat raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr B Hare regarding the direction that the greyhound I'm Mad be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

White About Now and Darley Dollar collided soon after the start.  Mission's Pride and Lawbringer collided approaching the first turn.  Dunbro Charlie, Darley Dollar and White About Now collided approaching the first turn checking Darley Dollar and severely checking White About Now which contacted the running rail as a result.  Mission's Pride, Lawbringer and Boris Winslow collided on the first turn checking Lawbringer and Boris Winslow.  Dunbro Charlie checked off Lawbringer on the first turn checking Darley Dollar.  Darley Dollar and Boris Winslow collided entering the home straight.  Mission's Pride raced wide approaching the winning post.

White About Now was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Slipaway Curly, which tailed off in the event, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to its right front leg and split webbing to its right front foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Quinn, the trainer of the greyhound Slipaway Curly.  Stewards deemed the performance of Slipaway Curly unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Slipaway Curly must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Taylor, the trainer of the greyhound Cee Jay Mac regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Cee Jay Mac was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cee Jay Mac with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge.  Cee Jay Mac was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Georgie Mist and Black Oak were slow to begin.  Katie Riot and Spiral Bek collided soon after the start checking Katie Riot.  Red Bomber checked off Melos Girlfriend approaching the first turn.  Red Bomber, Goergie Mist, Katie Riot and Spiral Bek collided on the first turn checking Georgie Best and Katie Riot.  Spiral Bek and Black Oak collided on the home turn.  Georgie Best and Katie Riot collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.  Watsargo Sarge and Slipaway Robbie collided several times approaching the winning post.

Jack's Prince was a late scratching at 11:51am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Manelito was slow to begin.  Ice Cold Bundy, Lil Weezy and Shirley Bass collided soon after the start.  Ice Cold Bundy, Shirley Bass and Advice Aplenty collided approaching the first turn checking Advice Aplenty.  Manelito galloped on the heels of Shirley Bass approaching the home turn checking Manelito, Shirley Bass and Advice Aplenty.  Ice Cold Bundy and Lil Weezy collided approaching the winning post.

Mr A Mooney was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Court Gift pursuant to GAR 33.

Lettuce Hold On trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 25.1kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.56.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5 lengths.  Lettuce Hold On was cleared.

(Satisfactory Weight Trial) Hyper Velocity trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 6, weight 28.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.56.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5 lengths.  Hyper Velocity was cleared.
