Stewards spoke to Ms. V. Watson, the trainer of Sharks Glory regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Sharks Glory last raced on 19th September 2016.  Ms. Watson stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being new to her kennel.

Alouette Josie, Harry's Hammer and Sharks Glory were slow to begin.  Harry's Hammer checked off Face To Face at the 250 metre mark.  Highfield Socks checked off Burra Flight at the 200 metre mark.  Burra Flight and Harry's Hammer collided at the 200 metre mark.  Highfield Socks and Alouette Josie collided at the 150 metre mark checking Alouette Josie.

Proud Phoenix and Remembering Dad were quick to begin.  Highfield Murph went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Krazy Blaze crossed in soon after the start checking Baby Tenby, It Is Done and Cathy's Tiger.  It Is Done checked off Krazy Blaze at the 250 metre mark.  Proud Phoenix and Krazy Blaze collided at the 50 metre mark.  Baby Tenby faltered approaching the winning post.

Highfield Murph was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Baby Tenby was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Rory Brown and Hello Slick were slow to begin.  Claretown Boris went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Hello Slick and Ace Gone Wild collided at the 150 metre mark.

Due to a malfunction with the semaphore board and the timing system, the placings from Race 4 were displayed after this race.  The official numbers for this event were 1, 3, 6 & 8 and the All Clear was given.  The event was also hand timed at 19.69.

This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes to allow for a test to be conducted on the timing system and the semaphore board.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. G. Ennis regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Benson.  Stewards directed that Benson be boxed first in future events.

Dozer Lad was a late scratching at 11:15am on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to injuries to its left metatarsal and left hock.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Unlikable was a late scratching at 2:18pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Vintage Warrior was slow to begin.  Lady Of Ellie and Blackjack's Back collided at the 300 metre mark checking Lady Of Ellie.  Vintage Warrior and Lady Of Ellie crossed to the outside approaching the 200 metre mark.  Dodgy Dede and Blackjack's Back collided at the 100 metre mark checking Dodgy Dede.

Roll 'Em Maggie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to its right front foot.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Tait, the trainer of Claretown Happy regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Claretown Happy last raced on 10th October 2016.  Mr. Tait stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being on season.

Highfield Bambo was slow to begin.  Storm Of All and Spring Top collided soon after the start.  Storm Of All checked off Still Just Under at the 250 metre mark. Still Just Under checked off Boston You Essay at the 200 metre mark.  Highfield Bambo, Storm Of All and Jack's Lass collided at the 50 metre mark checking Storm Of All and severely checking Highfield Bambo.

Kathy's Lady was a late scratching at 7:45am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
