A pre-race sample was taken from Emilia Cash.
Bandit's Girls and Dynamo Magic were slow to begin. Phillip Keeping and Shot To Glory collided soon after the start. Phillip Keeping and Gotta Rush collided approaching the first turn. Bandit's Girls and Sun Choice collided on the first turn severley checking Bandit's Girls. Phillip Keeping and Emilia Cash collided in the home straight.

Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77):-
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon the owner of Dr. Gidget regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Dr. Gidget last raced on 11/06/16. Mr. McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A Dr. Gidget trialled over 395 metres from box 4, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.70 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.75 metres lengths. Dr. Gidget was cleared.
