Banjo Fever was quick to begin.  Can't Believe It was slow to begin.  Banjo Fever crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Wild Hunny and Slick Maggie.  Johnny Bullet and Banjo Fever collided approaching the first turn.  Wild Hunny was checked off Banjo Fever on the first turn and collided with Slick Maggie severely checking Wild Hunny and Slick Maggie.  Wild Hunny was checked off Slick Maggie on the third turn checking Slick Maggie, both greyhounds tailed off.  Sanz Marlow raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Northway, the Trainer/Handler of Text Me Tony regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound. Ms. Northway explained that  due to the delay the greyhound became over excited and difficult to box. Stewards noted Ms. Northway's explanation and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds boxing manners.

Tambo Flash and Elswyk Max were quick to begin.  Bruiser Senor, Sea Fever and Tuco Salamanca collided soon after the start.  Tuco Salamanca and Lakeview Miss collided on the first turn.  Bruiser Senor and Miss Gypsy Lee collided on the second turn.

Dr. Flannigan was slow to begin.  Our First Lady, Diamond and Big Hook collided soon after the start.  Our First Lady, Diamond and Big Hook collided on the first turn causing Diamond to fall checking Dr. Flannigan.  Our First Lady and Big Hook collided on the second turn.  Dr. Flannigan and Big Hook collided in the back straight and again approaching the winning post.  

Diamond was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the front left metacarpus, a spike wound to the left hind metatarsus and a right hind nail bed abrasion, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Pechey was quick to begin.  Up Hill Jill, Sidute and Paua To Avoid were slow to begin.  Up Hill Jill and Fantasy McQueen collided approaching the first turn.  Pechey, Up Hill Jill and Kelly Hook collided on the first turn checking Pechey, Up Hill Jill and Fantasy McQueen.  Kelly Hook and Eily West collided approaching the second turn checking Eily West and Paua To Avoid.  Kelly Hook faltered in the back straight.  Up Hill Jill was checked off Eily West approaching the home turn.

Kelly Hook was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Walter, Lucky Tetris and Wot Price Flash were slow to begin.  Aston Philou and Lucky Tetris collided on the first turn checking Aston Philou.  Lucky Tetris was checked off Tiger Whelan in the back straight. Dr. Walter and Tiger Whelan collided on the second turn.

Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77):-

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon the owner of Dr. Gidget regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Dr. Gidget last raced on 11/06/16.  Mr. McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a hock injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Dr. Gidget trialled over 395 metres from box 4, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.70 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.75 metres lengths.  Dr. Gidget was cleared.
