Steward's Report
Quasi Bale was slow to begin. Mepunga Treasure and Benzo Bale collided soon after the start. White Bandit and Ima Fairytale collided approaching the first turn. Benzo Bale galloped on the heels of Mepunga Treasure on the first turn checking Benzo Bale, severely checking Mepunga Treasure which fell as a result. Hard Bargain and Sweet Barbados collided on the third turn. Quasi Bale and Sweet Barbados collided on the home turn. Hard Bargain and White Bandit collided entering the home straight checking Hard Bargain.
Mepunga Treasure was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Benzo Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hind, no stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Representative of Benzo Bale, Mr G. Dailly, regarding the direction that Benzo Bale be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
A sample was taken from Ima Fairytale, the winner of the event.
