Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dodge The Storm upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
You Can Excel was slow to begin. Dyna Irminus, Demon Bale, Empire Entourage and Dodge The Storm collided soon after the start. Dream Dazzler and Eren Bale collided soon after the start. Dream Dazzler checked off Eren Bale on the first turn and collided with Moore Of Darcy checking Moore Of Darcy. Dyna Irminus and Empire Entourage collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Dodge The Storm veered out approaching the second turn and collided with Dyna Irminus, checking Dyna Irminus and Empire Entourage. Dodge The Storm veered out and marred Empire Entourage on the second turn and again entering the back straight, severely checking Empire Entourage and causing both greyhounds to not take any further part in the event. You Can Excel checked off Dream Dazzler entering the back straight. Dream Dazzler and Moore Of Darcy collided on the home turn checking Moore Of Darcy, You Can Excel and Dyna Irminus. Moore Of Darcy and You Can Excel collided approaching the winning post.
Empire Entourage was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Dodge The Storm was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left fore leg, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr D. Batten,Trainer of Dodge The Storm. Acting under GAR 69(1), Stewards charged Dodge The Storm with marring. Mr Batten pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dodge The Storm was found guilty and suspended for 3 months, All Tracks, and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
