Call Me Tickets was slow to begin. Bruree Jewel and Magic Coups collided approaching the first turn. Texas Tommy checked off Coalville Tiger approaching the first turn. Texas Tommy and Cosmic Jewel collided on the first turn. Bruree Jewel checked off Magic Coups approaching the second turn. Texas Tommy checked off Call Me Tickets on the third turn. Lion Rebel veered out and marred the running of Coalville Tiger on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Magic Coups and Shake 'Em Off collided entering the home straight. Magic Coups veered out and marred the running of Shake 'Em Off in the home straight. Magic Coups and Shake 'Em Off collided approaching the winning post.
Lion Rebel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained dislocation of left front toes and soreness to its right triangle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Karabitsakos, the trainer of the greyhound Lion Rebel regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Lion Rebel with marring. Mr. Karabitsakos pleaded not guilty to the charge. Lion Rebel was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Magic Coups was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Magic Coups with marring. Mr. Geyer pleaded not guilty to the charge. Magic Coups was found guilty and the greyhound was suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
