Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Todd after the greyhound Filius Flitwick was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kenneling process. Mr. Todd was issued with a warning and reminded when kenneling he ensures greyhounds are kenneled in accordance with kennel procedure.
Stewards spoke to kennel attendant, Mr D. Maye after the greyhound Filius Flitwick was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kenneling process. Mr D. Maye was given a warning and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kenneled in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Zipping Chubbz a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Zipping Chubbz was slow to begin. Filius Flitwick and Straw Hat Luffy collided soon after the start. Zipping Chubbz and Filius Flitwick collided on the first turn. What's Up Herbie checked off Cruisy's Luck on the first turn. Zipping Chubbz checked off Filius Flitwick on the first turn. What's Up Herbie checked off Velloway on the home turn. Zipping Chubbz and Filius Flitwick collided entering the home straight and raced wide.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Briffa , trainer of Velloway regarding the greyhound's improved performance. Mr. Briffa stated that he was very confident when the greyhound drew an inside box. Mr. Briffa also added that the greyhound has had reoccuring sesamoid and hock injuries and Mr. Briffa had been working on these over a period of time. Stewards noted Mr. Briffa's explanation and directed that a sample be taken.
