A pre race sample was taken from Connemara Black.
Lady Lurcher was quick to begin. Pearce was slow to begin. Giroud and Little Arandt collided approaching the first turn, checking Giroud. They Watch and Instant Allen collided approaching the first turn. Giroud and Pearce collided on the first turn, severely checking Pearce. Little Arandt raced wide in the home straight.
Due to a malfunction, incorrect information was initially displayed on the semaphore board. This was rectified to display the correct placings of 6-3-5-2 before the All Clear was given.
