Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms L. Courts, the trainer of Elite Lucy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Elite Lucy last raced on 23 July 2015. Ms. Courts stated that the greyhound has recovered from a hip injury and a seasonal condition.
Ms L. Courts, trainer of Elite Lucy declared a new weight of 29.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Elite Lucy last raced at 28.4kg.
Suzy Nitro was quick to begin. Allen Jeer and Suzy Nitro collided approaching the first turn checking Suzy Nitro. Blue Boy and Flash Deeds collided on the first turn. Suspicious Cal stayed in the boxes and took no competitive part in the event.
Suspicious Cal was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer Mr. Lloyd declined to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr M. Lloyd, the trainer of the greyhound Suspicious Cal regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Suspicious Cal with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr M. Lloyd pleaded not guilty to the charge, Suspicious Cal was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
