Steward's Report
Mac's Intention, Ok Jake and Combustion were slow to begin. Ok Jake and Combustion collided soon after the start. Combustion crossed to the rail on the first turn and collided with Mac's Intention. Mac's Intention checked off Combustion on the first turn severely checking Burrawonga Kevan. Mac's Intention pulled up as a result. Ok Jake checked off Misty Sannette entering the back straight. Joyce's Choice, Misty Sannette and Ok Jake collided on the second turn checking Joyce's Choice, Misty Sannette and Combustion. Misty Sannette and Combustion collided approaching the home turn.
Burrawonga Kevan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right chest muscle and right quadraceps. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Mac's Intention was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right bicep and right chest. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Birthisel, the trainer of the greyhound Burrawonga Kevan. Stewards deemed the performance of Burrawonga Kevan unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Burrawonga Kevan must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
