Dan The Man and Little Written were slow to begin.  Short Blond Hair, Tiger Ty Bob, Dan The Man, Magic Myer and Little Written collided soon after the start, checking Tiger Ty Bob, Dan The Man and Little Written.  Tiger Ty Bob and Dan The Man collided approaching the first turn.  Short Blond Hair checked off Don's Disaster on the first turn.  Tiger Ty Bob and Dan The Man collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds, causing Dan The Man to race wide checking Little Written as a result.  Little Written galloped on the heels of Dan The Man approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Short Blond Hair and Magic Myer collided on the home turn.

Dan The Man was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right pencil muscle and abrasions to the right metatarsal, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to D Baker, the handler of Nellie's Lad regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.

A pre race sample was taken from Howie Bale.

Howie Bale was quick to begin.  Shall She Cindy, Galloping Leo and Can't Believe It were slow to begin.  Shall She Cindy and Galloping Leo collided approaching the first turn.  Wendy Can't Run and Galloping Leo collided approaching the second turn.  Shall She Cindy checked off Wendy Can't Run approaching the second turn.

A pre race sample was taken from He Shall Johnny.

Boozetown Hound and Miata Gold were quick to begin.  He Shall Johnny and Nature's Gent collided soon after the start.  Always About Me crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Always About Me, Diesel Turbo, Nature's Gent and He Shall Johnny.  Miata Gold and Always About Me collided approaching the first turn, checking Always About Me.  Miata Gold and Mister Heeney collided on the first turn.  He Shall Johnny, Always About Me and Nature's Gent collided on the first turn, checking Always About Me and Nature's Gent.  Nature's Gent, Alice Allen and Mister Heeney collided on the second turn.  Always About Me checked off Nature's Gent in the back straight.  Boozetown Hound and He Shall Johnny collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

A pre race sample was taken from Diamond's Sing.

Invienna was quick to begin.  Royal Village was slow to begin.  Diamond's Sing, Slick Diamond and Hello Nimble collided soon after the start, checking Diamond's Sing and Slick Diamond.  Hello Nimble crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Dusty Leads and Tycore Lad.  Royal Village raced wide approaching the home turn.  Tycore Lad and Diamond's Sing collided on the home turn, checking Tycore Lad.  Dusty Leads and Royal Village collided entering the home straight.

A sample was taken from Invienna - the winner of the event.

A pre race sample was unable to be obtained from Duff Bale.  A post race sample was subsequently taken.

Lisburn Gem was slow to begin.  Diegonator crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Duff Bale, causing Lisburn Gem to gallop on the heels of Diegonator as a result.  Dromore's Opal, Duff Bale and Lisburn Gem collided approaching the first turn, causing Dromore's Opal to fall.  Diegonator raced wide on the first turn.  From The Dark checked off Mighty Bree approaching the second turn.  Duff Bale and Lisburn Gem collided approaching the second turn.  Shakey Jet checked off Mighty Bree on the second turn, causing Shakey Jet and From The Dark to collide.  From The Dark checked off Diegonator on the third turn.

Dromore's Opal was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right deltoid and right triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Shakey Jet was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injuy found.

Stewards issued a warning to G Arvanitis, the trainer of Shakey Jet regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn.

A pre race sample was taken from Little Pookie.

Zoltina's Legacy and Angel Ice were slow to begin.  Le Sands, Why Not Logan and Mighty Sprite collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Why Not Logan which faltered and lost ground.  Little Pookie and Le Sands collided on the first turn, severely checking Le Sands.

Why Not Logan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injured left and right back muscles, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Usain Gilbert and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 6.00pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer F Andrighetto was fined the sum of $100.

A pre race sample was taken from Lightwood Miss.

Pirlo was slow to begin.  Lightwood Miss and Utopia collided soon after the start.  Miss Cintiarna and Lightwood Miss collided on the first turn.  Emio Bale checked off Pirlo on the second turn.  Miss Cintiarna checked off Lightwood Miss in the back straight.

A pre race sample was taken from Fair Of Face.

Division Four, Rubrica, Blingified and Eaton Bale were slow to begin.  Behind The Mask and Banjo Bomber collided soon after the start.  Fair Of Face and Behind The Mask collided soon after the start.  Banjo Bomber and Division Four collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Division Four checked off Blingified approaching the second turn.  Fair Of Face and Behind The Mask collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Stewards noted that the lure distance through the second turn was further in front of the leading greyhound than the required distance.  Stewards spoke to lure driver Mr W Harmor and Mr Harmor stated that he felt that the controls of the lure did not react from soon after the start until the first turn, and then reacted going through the first turn causing the lure to travel faster which caused a larger than normal distance between the leading greyhound and the lure on the second turn.  Stewards were of the opinion that this incident had no bearing on the outcome of the event (GAR 55(1)).  The lure/carriage was changed following this event and there was no futher concerns.

Banjo Shark was slow to begin.  Cyclone Charlie and Phil's In Luck collided soon after the start.  Custom Paint crossed to the rail on the second turn, checking Phil's In Luck.  Cyclone Charlie and Phil's In Luck collided approaching the home turn.  Beljay Fantasy and Enchanted Lass collided approaching the home turn.

Handler G Arvanitis raised concerns with the stewards regarding the Arvo's Violet's fitness after being retrieved from the kennels.  Arvo's Violet was a late scratching at 9.40pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an injured right back muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Joni Sunset, Beluga Diamond and Miss Jay Mac collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, severely checking Miss Jay Mac which stumbled and lost ground.  Diamond Apple and Gats Caviar collided on the first turn, checking Gats Caviar.  Diamond Apple checked off Emilia Cash on the home turn.

A sample was taken from Really Magic - the winner of the event.

Daintree King was a late scratching at 5.50pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from So Far Away.

Roma Girl was quick to begin.  Russ Will Crowe and Burnsy's Sam were slow to begin.  Bob's Gift and Crusader collided on the first turn, checking Crusader.  Russ Will Crowe faltered on the first turn and lost ground.  Burnsy's Sam and Crusader collided on the home turn.

Russ Will Crowe was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist and right back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
