A pre race sample was taken from Boo Star.
Bernmar Terry was slow to begin. Mister Heeney and Woodleigh Blaze collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. In A Pickle and Boo Star collided approaching the first turn checking In A Pickle. In A Pickle and Maroon Blitz collided on the first turn checking In A Pickle, Maroon Blitz and Mister Heeney. Emperor Cruz checked off Boo Star approaching the home turn. Aston Emilio and Bernmar Terry collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds and causing Mister Heeney to race wide. Boo Star and Emperor Cruz collided entering the home straight. Boo Star and Bernmar Terry collided entering the home straight. Aston Emilio checked off Bernmar Terry entering the home straight. Maroon Blitz raced wide entering the home straight. Boo Star and Emperor Cruz collided in the home straight. In A Pickle and Emperor Cruz collided approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
Emperor Cruz was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Ms. J. Belsham, the handler of Emperor Cruz regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. C. Johannsen regarding the direction that the greyhound Mister Heeney be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
