Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Green, the trainer of Red Bomber regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Red Bomber last raced on 11th August 2015. Mr. Green stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after injuries sustained in the catching pen. Mr. Green also stated that he had been nominating his greyhound over the last 4 weeks without a run.
Mr. G. Green trainer of Red Bomber declared a new weight of 31.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Red Bomber last raced at 29.5kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Wrecking Ralph.
Vivacious Chick and Red Bomber were quick to begin. Blue Label, Lita's Lad and Spiral Bek collided soon after the start checking Blue Label and Spiral Bek. Vivacious Chick and Chief Tommy collided approaching the first turn checking Vivacious Chick and Lita's Lad. Chief Tommy checked off Red Bomber approaching the first turn. Red Bomber and Miss Capone collided on the first turn checking Miss Capone and Chief Tommy and severely checking Vivacious Chick, Lita's Lad and Spiral Bek. Vivacious Chick, Lita's Lad and Spiral Bek collided approaching the home turn checking Spiral Bek and severely checking Vivacious Chick and Lita's Lad. Vivacious Chick faltered on the home turn and tailed off. Chief Tommy checked off Red Bomber in the home straight.
Vivacious Chick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained broken right hind toes. A 30 day stand down period was imposed.
