A pre-race sample was taken from Oblivious.
Rodarte Quayle was quick to begin. Oblivious and Shooter's Irish collided soon after the start checking Oblivious which stumbled and pulled up as a result. Court Gift, Slipaway Curly, Don's Licker and Peter Repeater collided approaching the first turn checking Court Gift and severely checking Slipaway Curly which faltered and tailed off as a result. Don's Licker and Court Gift collided on the first turn checking Court Gift. Rodarte Quayle and Shooter's Irish collided entering the home straight. Shooter's Irish, Wolf Spy and Don's Licker collided in the home straight checking Shooter's Irish.
Slipaway Curly was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right shoulder. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
