Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Courts, the trainer of Troy's Verdict regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Troy's Verdict last raced on 25th June 2015.  Ms. Courts stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a spell to re-educate the greyhound.

Ms. A Courts trainer of Troy's Verdict declared a new weight of 32.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Troy's Verdict last raced at 31.2kgs.

Melos Girlfriend was quick to begin.  Tiger Jones, Troy's Verdict and Jack's Alouette collided soon after the start checking Tiger Jones and Troy's Verdict. Our Lilly was a late scratching at 11:39am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. J. Psaila was fined the sum of $100.

Toorak Road, Highfield La La and Cosmic Earner were quick to begin.  Cosmic Earner checked off Our Luck approaching the first turn.  Cosmic Earner faltered approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Our Luck raced wide on the home turn.

Cosmic Earner was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right wrist and right thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Jarvis, the trainer of Dutch Schultz regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Dutch Schultz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right shoulder.  A 10 day stand down period was imposesd.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dutch Schultz with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Jarvis pleaded guilty to the charge.  Dutch Schultz was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Green, the trainer of Red Bomber regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Red Bomber last raced on 11th August 2015.  Mr. Green stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after injuries sustained in the catching pen.  Mr. Green also stated that he had been nominating his greyhound over the last 4 weeks without a run.

Mr. G. Green trainer of Red Bomber declared a new weight of 31.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Red Bomber last raced at 29.5kgs.

Sparkling Kitty trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 25.3kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.55.  The greyhound won by a margin of 12 lengths.  Sparkling Kitty was cleared.
