Mr. G. Armstrong, the respresentative of Duporth Avenue declared a new weight of 36.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Duporth Avenue last raced at 34.0kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Arborstone.
Glory Rose and Hurricane Craig were slow to begin. Duporth Avenue and Peta Sketa collided soon after the start checking Peta Sketa. Duporth Avenue, Arborstone and Lucky Andy collided approaching the first turn checking Duporth Avenue and severely checking Lucky Andy. Glory Rose and Lucky Andy collided approaching the first turn. Duporth Avenue and Peta Sketa collided on the first turn checking Duporth Avenue. Peta Sketa galloped on the heels of Arborstone approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Arborstone checked off Peta Sketa on the home turn and raced wide as a result.
