Stewards spoke to Mr C.Farrugia, the trainer of the greyhound Bob On. Stewards deemed the performance of Bob On unsatisfactory in this event in the home straight and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Bob On must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Queen Elma and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 2:22pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr J.Olsen was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to Mr J.Formosa, the trainer of the greyhound Lucia Rossa regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Lucia Rossa with marring. Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Lucia Rossa was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Major Burst was slow to begin. Grand Tornado and Allen Earner collided on the first turn, checking Epstein Bale. Grand Tornado faltered approaching the home turn. 

Grand Tornado was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder, right wrist and abrasions to the left stifle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards issued a severe reprimand to the handler of Two Snaps , Mr C.Grenfell regarding his use of a mobile in the kennel area whilst handling a greyhound.

Stewards noted that the seal on the kennel bay for this event was faulty however Stewards were satisified that the bay had been securely locked at all times and that there was no breach of kennel security.

Satisfactory Weight Trial (Solo) - Taxi trialled over the 400m from box 1, weight 35.0kg. The time of the trial was 23.19, Taxi was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results – Daphne Allen trialled over the 400m from box 3, weight 24.8kg the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.69, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.25 lengths. Daphne Allen was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results – Ripstick Ella trialled over the 400m from box 4, weight 27.6kg the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.69, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.75 lengths. Ripstick Ella was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results – Admiral Bay trialled over the 400m from box 1, weight 32.5kg the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.69, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.75 lengths. Admiral Bay was cleared.
