Lil Arthur and Sparcia collided soon after the start. Inventor and Samus Allen collided approaching the first turn, checking Samus Allen. El Bee Cee and Iona Lucky Seven collided on the first turn, checking El Bee Cee. El Bee Cee, Lil Arthur, Sparcia and Samus Allen collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Samus Allen. Iona Lucky Seven and Inventor collided approaching the home turn, checking Iona Lucky Seven. Lil Arthur and Sparcia collided approaching the home turn, checking Sparcia. Sparcia turned its head inwards in the home straight and collided with Iona Lucky Seven.
Stewards spoke to Ms. N. Lund, the trainer of the greyhound Sparcia regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Sparcia was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both pencil muscles, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Sparcia with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Lund pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sparcia was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
