Steward's Report

Burnt Rubber was a late scratching at 12.18pm due to illness.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Righto Mitch.

Righto Mitch was slow to begin.  Ginger Pieces and Jasocate collided on the first turn.  Henry Lee galloped on Neo Ha Ha on the first turn checking Jasocate and Miz Josie, Henry Lee and Neo Ha Ha fell as a result.  Righto Mitch eased on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Josocate raced wide in the home straight.

Neo Ha Ha was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Henry Lee was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Righto Mitch was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted after 40 minutes, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Winter the trainer of the greyhound Righto Mitch regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Righto Mitch with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Winter pleaded not guilty to the charge, Mighty Mitch was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
