Steward's Report

Yessa went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Quite Spritely and Radiant Rose were slow to begin.  Destini Spark and Elle's Diva collided approaching the first turn checking Destini Spark.  Radiant Rose and Claretown Rose collided on the first turn checking Claretown Rose which tailed off as a result.  Yessa and Destini Spark collided approaching the home turn.  Urana Gold eased approaching the home turn checking Quite Spritely, Elle's Diva and Radiant Rose.  Quite Spritely and Radiant Rose collided entering the home straight.  Radiant Rose and Elle's Diva collided in the home straight.

Claretown Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right shoulder.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. P. Griffen declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Griffen, the trainer of the greyhound Claretown Rose.  Stewards deemed the performance of Claretown Rose unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Claretown Rose must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Donlon, the trainer of the greyhound Urana Gold regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Urana Gold was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left shoulder.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Urana Gold with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Donlon pleaded guilty to the charge.  Urana Gold was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D Choules, the representative of Destini Spark regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr. Choules stated that the greyhound had been finding severe trouble in its recent starts. He also added that the greyhound was aided by interference approaching the home turn which enabled the greyhound to obtain a clear run through.
