Steward's Report
Mumbles Murray and Bit Hot Finchy were slow to begin. Mumbles Murray checked off Phaser Bale soon after the start. All Over and Octagon Girl collided approaching the first turn. Sloan Ranger and Megan Keeping collided on the first turn, checking Megan Keeping. Dyna Malaise and All Over collided approaching the home turn, severely checking All Over. Dyna Malaise and Octagon Girl collided approaching the home turn, checking Octagon Girl. Bit Hot Finchy checked off Phaser Bale approaching the home turn. Octagon Girl eased approaching the winning post.
Octagon Girl was vetted after the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr. M Tabb declined the offer to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M Tabb, the representative of the greyhound Octagon Girl regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Octagon Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. M Tabb pleaded guilty to the charge, Octagon Girl was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
