Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Brett, the trainer of Matchstick Girl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Matchstick Girl last raced on 24th April 2016. Mr. Brett stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being on season.
Westmead Maggie was quick to begin. Cheryl's Boy checked off Nirranda Hannah approaching the first turn. Game Spirit and Nirranda Hannah collided on the first turn checking Game Spirit, Nirranda Hannah and Cheryl's Boy. Nirranda Hannah eased approaching the home turn and tailed off.. Cudgee's Myla checked off Matchstick Girl entering the home straight. Game Spirit raced wide in the home straight. Parvati Patil and Lonesome George collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Lloyd, the representative of the greyhound Nirranda Hannah regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Nirranda Hannah was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left monkey muscle, right bicep muscle and right sartorius muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Nirranda Hannah with failing to puruse the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Lloyd pleaded guilty to the charge. Nirranda Hannah was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
