Flachez was quick to begin.  Bally Sleek and Whodat Knockin' were slow to begin.  Gilbert Allen and Up There Herbie collided soon after the start checking Gilbert Allen, Inline Allen and Bally Sleek.  Whodat Knockin' and Ping King collided approaching the first turn checking Ping King.  Dicky and Up There Herbie collided approaching the first turn checking Dicky.  Whodat Knockin', Up There Herbie and Flachez collided on the first turn checking Up There Herbie.  Dicky, Ping King and Up There Herbie collided approaching the home turn checking Up There Herbie and severely checking Ping King which stumbled as a result.  Inline Allen raced wide on the home turn and entering the home straight.

Dyna Famin and Hahn Allen were quick to begin.  Jam Tee was slow to begin.  Bally Bessie checked off Dyna Famin soon after the start.  Dyna Elvis, Nine Hours and Always Whistling collided approaching the first turn severely checking Nine Hours and Jam Tee and causing both greyhounds to stumble as a result.  Dyna Elvis and Always Whistling collided approaching the first turn checking Always Whistling which pulled up as a result.

Nine Hours was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Always Whistling was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's left hock.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Dimple Way and Koko Kola collided soon after the start.  Southwood Paddy and Knockin' Nowhere collided soon after the start.  Dimple Way and Under Control collided on the first turn.  Under Control and So Confused collided approaching the home turn checking Under Control which raced wide as a result.  Robert Anthony and Dirty Rich collided on the home turn.

Dyna Sandy checked off An That soon after the start.  An That, Brent Bale and Millard collided on the first turn checking An That.  Millard raced wide approaching the second turn.  Oxley Major and Lolly Bale collided approaching the second turn and again entering the back straight.  Oxley Majoe and Went Wooshka collided entering the home straight.

Stewards issued a warning to Catcher, Mr. B. Eyre for failing to organise a catcher for the greyhound Brent Bale.

Mr. Rumby was slow to begin.  Sozin's Comet and Super Train collided soon after the start.  Miss Chaparal and Ice Trucker collided approaching the first turn.  Miss Chaparal, McLaran and Padden Bale collided on the first turn checking McLaran.  Miss Chaparal and Reverend Matchy collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  McLaran and Miss Chaparal collided approaching the home turn.  Miss Chaparal and Reverend Matchy collided several times in the home straight.

Zipping Fred, Granville's Call and Chocolate Frog collided soon after the start checking Granville's Call and Chocolate Frog.  Bathilda Bagshot, Rainbow's Gift and Granville's Call collided approaching the first turn checking Rainbow's Gift and Chocolate Frog; Rainbow's Gift tailed off as a result.  Limburg Layne and Gunda Bale collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Gunda Bale and Bathilda Bagshot collided approaching the home turn.  Chocolate Frog, Gunda Bale and Bathilda Bagshot collided on the home turn checking Gunda Bale and Bathilda Bagshot.  Chocolate Frog and Limburg Layne raced wide in the home straight.

Granville's Call was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

All Square was slow to begin.  Pita Milo, Who Told Lochie and Stroke Of Luck collided soon after the start checking Who Told Lochie.  Stroke Of luck and Pita Milo collided approaching the first turn.  Padma's, Pita Milo and Queer Banana collided on the first turn checking Padma's and Pita Milo and severely checking All Square.  Padma's and Who Told Lochie collided approaching the home turn.  Stroke Of Luck crossed to rail approaching the winning post.

All Square was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Golden Goal was quick to begin.  Horsley Bale was slow to begin.  Jetgun and Roofer collided soon after the start.  Roofer and Flaming Bob collided approaching the first turn.  Jetgun, Golden Goal and Cosmic Jim collided approaching the first turn checking Golden Goal.  Horsley Bale and Roofer collided approaching the first turn.  Greg Bale and Golden Goal collided on the first turn.  Cosmic Jim contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and collided with Greg Bale as a result.  Jetgun and Flaming Bob collided approaching the home turn.  Horsley Bale, Cosmic Jim and Greg Bale collided on the home turn.  Jetgun marred the running of Flaming Bob on the home turn checking Flaming Bob which raced wide as a result.  Flaming Bob and Jetgun collided several times in the home straight.  Golden Goal crossed to the outside in the home straight checking Flaming Bob.

Jetgun was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained grazing to it's left hind toe.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Williams, the trainer of the greyhound Jetgun.  Acting under GAR 69(1)(a) stewards charged Jetgun with marring and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Geelong and directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
