Girl Guide was quick to begin. Maddy Maldini, Shake 'Em Up and Blown Away collided soon after the start. Shayley's Comet and Blown Away collided on the first turn. Shake 'Em Up checked off Blown Away on the first turn. Shayley's Comet and Blown Away collided approaching the home turn checking Shayley's Comet which brushed the running rail as a result. Girl Guide and Blown Away collided on the home turn.
Blown Away was vetted following an incident in the catching pen. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the neck and graze to the left hind leg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
