Steward's Report
Tuk Tuk was slow to begin. Brazen Beetroot and Barney Coco collided soon after the start. Cosmic Moments and Might And Magic collided on the first turn. Barnie's Bullet eased on the first turn. Brazen Beetroot checked off Flying Cola approaching the home turn. Cosmic Moments and Might And Magic collided approaching the home turn. Cosmic Moments checked off Brazen Beetroot on the home turn. Flying Cola, Cosmic Moments and Brazen Beetroot collided on the home turn checking Cosmic Moments and Brazen Beetroot. Barnie's Bullet and Britt Baxter collided on the home turn. Barnie's Bullet eased in the home straight. Might And Magic marred the running of Tuk Tuk approaching the winning post checking Tuk Tuk.
Might And Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right sesamoid. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Katiforis, the trainer of the greyhound Might And Magic regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Might And Magic with marring. Ms. Katiforis pleaded guilty to the charge. Might And Magic was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Formosa, the trainer of the greyhound Barnie's Bullet regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and in the home straight. Barnie's Bullet was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left wrist and left saddle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Barnie's Bullet with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge. Barnie's Bullet was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
