A pre-race sample was taken from Ravel.
Ravel, Frozen Nitro and Claretown Louise collided soon after the start checking Ravel. Frozen Nitro, Claretown Louise and Lady Lurcher collided approaching the first turn checking Ravel and Frozen Nitro. Claretown Louise and Lady Lurcher collided on the first turn checking Claretown Louise, Lady Lurcher and Frozen Nitro. Suzy Nitro and Eppy Bale collided on the first turn. Claretown Louise and Lady Lurcher collided several times approaching the home turn checking Claretown Louise. Dream Of Success raced wide on the home turn. Dream Of Success and Suzy Nitro raced wide in the home straight. Dream Of Success and Suzy Nitro collided approaching the winning post checking Suzy Nitro.
Stewards noted that the semaphore board displayed race 7 for the duration of this event. Stewards spoke to Mr. D Hoey, club manager who advised that there had been a series of miscommunication between club staff due to the stand down of Mr. Maye. The semaphore board was adjusted to race 6 after the all clear was given. Mr. Hoey advised stewards he would address the issue with the relevant staff members.
