Steward's Report
The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Bonfire Storm and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 5:37pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. D. Hammerstein was fined the sum of $100.
Eumeralla Magic was slow to begin. Arolok Hobo was very slow to begin (3 Lengths). Ima Trying, Heart In Motion, Thomeli Tiger and Arlo Bale collided soon after the start. Thomeli Tiger, Arlo Bale and Eumeralla Magic collided approaching the first turn, checking Thomeli Tiger and Arlo Bale. Ima Trying and Eumeralla Magic collided approaching the home turn. Thomeli Tiger marred the running of Ima Trying in the home straight. Thomeli Tiger and Ima Trying collided approaching the winning post, checking Ima Trying.
Arlo Bale was vetted and after being re-vetted following event eight, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left hock, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Thomeli Tiger was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right groin, left pencil and spike wounds to the left front and right hind legs, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Taylor, the trainer of the greyhound Thomeli Tiger regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Thomeli Tiger with marring. Mr. Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge, Thomeli Tiger was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
