Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr N. Sheehan, trainer of the greyhound Hill, as it had not raced since 23 January 2015. Mr Sheehan stated that the greyhound was a new addition to the kennel and has recovered from a right groin injury.
Tear Away Lucy, Banate Express and Peggy Dooley were very slow to begin (3 Lengths). Pink Martini, Hill, Rene Love and Talanjee Stiff collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Hill and severely checking Rene Love. Talanjee Stiff and Pink Martini collided on the first turn, checking Talanjee Stiff. Tear Away Lucy, Peggy Dooley and Rene Love collided approaching the home turn, checking Peggy Dooley and Rene Love. Banate Express raced wide in the home straight. Pink Martini and She's Dee Rocket collided approaching the winning post.
Rene Love was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left back leg. No stand down period was imposed.
Banate Express was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left pencil and left groin, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Brouwer regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Banate Express. Stewards directed that Banate Express be boxed first in future events.
