Dodge The Magic, Doing A Youngy and Dr Yagatha were slow to begin. Dodge The Magic and In Dee Beginning collided soon after the start. In Dee Beginning checked off Doing A Youngy approaching the first turn. Dodge The Magic brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Apache Tears crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Veetee Havoc and causing Ringo Dingo, Sun Choice and Doing A Youngy to collide, severely checking Sun Choice, Dodge The Magic, Doing A Youngy and Dr Yagatha. Dodge The Magic eased in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Doing A Youngy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right chest muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr D.Batten, the trainer of the greyhound Dodge The Magic regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Dodge The Magic was vetted and re-vetted following event 3. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left chest muscle and right monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dodge The Magic with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Batten pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dodge The Magic was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
