Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Billy Keeping upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre race sample was taken from In Dee Genes upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre race sample was taken from Bracket Creep.
Segovia was slow to begin.
Bracket Creep crossed outside soon after the start and collided with Mo keeping and Mafalda Hopkirk. Mo keeping, Mafalda Hopkirk, Mighty Matlock and In Dee Genes collided on the first turn checking Mafalda Hopkirk and Billy Keeping, Mo Keeping contacted the running rail. Segovia raced wide on the first turn. Billy Keeping and Segovia collided in the back straight. Billy Keeping and In Dee Genes collided on the third turn. Segovia marred the running of Mo Keeping in the home straight checking Mo Keeping and Mafalda Hopkirk.
Segovia was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Thompson the trainer of the greyhound Segovia regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Segovia with marring. Mr J. Thompson pleaded guilty to the charge, Segovia was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
