Alessi Bale, Whammy and Nothing Much were slow to begin.
Alessi Bale, Whamy and Bustino collided approaching the first turn checking Alessi Bale. Alessi Bale and Whammy collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Bustino and Perfect Meg collided approaching the home turn. Alessi Bale and Perfect Meg collided on the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds; Alessi Bale stumbled as a result. As a result of this collision, Alessi Bale lost balance and raced wide in the home straight, Perfect Meg was consequently checked.
Alessi Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triceps and the left quadriceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
