Steve Allen, Claretown Westy and Perfect Return were slow to begin.
Lomu and Dakka Jack collided soon after the start checking Perfect Return. Lomu crossed to the rails approaching the first turn checking Steve Allen, Claretown Westy and Ninja Backman. Happy Friday and Perfect Return collided on the first turn checking Steve Allen and Ninja Backman and severely checking Happy Friday and Perfect Return. Claretown Westy and Ninja Backman collided several times in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Happy Friday was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pencil muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
